First Post

Okay, so in this first post, I am just going to outline my reasons for doing the blog, my motivation and some recent workout for me to keep track of things.

REASONS: I have recently dedicated myself to competing at the Crossfit Games Sectionals next year. I don't really like any of the other methods that I have used to keep track of my workouts and progress so I think this blog will be the most effective way of doing it. I will update the blog daily (hopefully) and put diet information and workout information so that I can compare to myself. If you have stumbled onto this blog and are such a crossfit fanatic that you are reading even this, I commend your dedication.

Recent Workouts: I have been doing Crossfit Football programming for the last couple of weeks. I really like their Strength workouts, but I am not so sure about the DWOD's. So, I have mixed a couple of regular mainsite wods in there as well. The following are in no particular order, I just need to write them down so that I have them to compare to in the future

Weight: started a few weeks ago at 197 and am currently down to 192.

Randy: 7:25 (really could have done better here next time I need to go 5 reps at a time shooting for low 6s or even high 5s)

Grace: 2:56 (probably could have done a little better here (next time shooting for mid 2s

Power Cleans 5x3: 185-205-205-205(f at 3rd rep)-205
Squats 3x5: 245,245,245
Presses 3x5: 135, 140, 145(f)
Deadlifts: 5rm 315(shoulda done more)
Bench Press: 3x5 205,215,220(f on last rep)
Chin-ups Max Reps Strict: 14,9,5
Got 4 muscle-ups in 4 attempts the other day (probably in about 5 minutes)

Diet: This past week was my first on the Zone. I definitely noticed a difference. Wednesday night I ate bad and then Friday evening and Saturday normal cheating. I am considering moving to Friday evening and Saturday evening as the cheat times.

Lower back is still giving me a little soreness and tightness.

Just got my skins yesterday and will see if they help with my shin splints and tendonitis issues.
